CBSE UGC NET November 2017

Glad to share that I have cleared CBSE UGC NET November 2017 exam again. June 2012, I have cleared UGC NET. After that, I have tried this time to test my subject knowledge. By God's grace, I have cleared this time too.

The difference between 2012 and 2017 exam is as follows, in 2012, questions were sharp and we could answer only when we have deep knowledge over subject. Now in 2017, questions were more analytical. We need to have deep subject knowledge and also good analytical skills. Both patterns are very interesting. 

Probation Period Over

By December 30, 2017, my probation period is over at Sankar Polytechnic College (Autonomous), Tirunelveli.

I am glad to mention that We have Received Financial Assistance from Raja Rammohun Roy Library Foundation,Kokatta for Organizing Conference. It is great support for us. Here I acknowledge and Thank RRRLF for their Financial Support. The Conference has proposed to be organized at our Campuson January 22 & 23, 2016.

Report on Open Sources for Modern Library Services on 31/10/2015

              With the Lighting of Kuthu Vilaku by Revered Swami Bhakthanandaji, Administrator, Revered Yatiswari Saravanabhavapriya Amba, Secretary, Dr Smt M.Malarvizhi, Principal of College, SALIS Advisor, S.Suriyanarayanan Sir, Dr.K.Murugan, Chairman, SALIS Tirunelveli Chapter, Aarathi by Swamiji & Prayer Song by Vanitha Priya, III Economics the programme was started. The Welcome address was given by B.Vijayalakshmi, Librarian. Swamiji, Ambaji have blessed the gathering, Our Principal has given Presidential Address followed by Memento Presentation. Oath Taking on Reading Habit & Books was conducted by Dr K.Murugan Sir. S.Suriyanarayanan Sir has inaugurated the session. Seminar CD has been released by Swamiji & received by S.Suriyanarayanan Sir. Smt.C.Hema has felicitated the function. J.Aarumugam, Excecutive, TCS, Chennai has given overview of the Seminar. Smt S.Gomathy, Assistant Librarian has given Vote of Thanks.

                   Participants get chance to learn by hands on training.  22 Participants from various Colleges have participated enthusiastically. At the valvaledictory function, Feedback was given by participants. Participants were honored by Certificate & Daily Divine distribution by Amba . With the National Anthem, the programme came to an end.

Seminar on Open Source Softwares for Modern Library Services on 31/10/2015

We planned to install DSpace Software for our Library. Around 2 years I have tried to approach professionals. Now the Time comes. Shri J.Arumugam,TCS has accepted to install software for us. As per his suggestion, we proposed to organize this Seminar for the benefit of the Library Professionals of near by Colleges. Thanks to Shri J.Arumugam,TCS.

This Seminar aims at familiarizing Participants with the various Open Source Softwares available to manage the Library Resources & Services effectively.It focuses on Library Automation Open Source Software-Koha, Digital Library Open Source Software-DSpace, Course Management System-Moodle & Web Publishing Software-Drupal, Wordpress and their usage.

Competitive Exam Coaching Class at Public Library, Palayamkottai on 15/10/2015

Public Library, Tirunelveli and Smart Leaders IAS Coaching Class have organized Competitive Exam Coaching Class at Public Library, Palayamkottai on 15/10/2015. The event was well organized by Shri Muthukrihnan Sir, Librarian, Public Library. 29 Students from our College have participated in this programme.

Saraswathi Pooja Celebration at Our Library 15/10/2015

Sarada Library has celebrated Saraswathi Pooja in advance. Secretaty Yatiswari Saravanabhavapriya Amba has taken Aarathi & has lighted Kuthu Vilakku. Students have sung a prayer song. Our staff have prepared & distributed Prasadam to the Students.

Librarian Day Celebrations 12/08/2015

Librarian day is celebrated in our College. Drama is enacted by III BA English Students in the theme of improving Reading Habit. Kalam Home Library Movement is also initiated. We planned to collect data of each Students' present collection of books & planned to collect data again in next semester. Our Staff Smt.M.Vijayalakshmi Mam from Computer Science Department, Tamburati Mam from English Department have delivered a Speech on Reading Habit. Students enjoyed the Drama.
Our Staff have given Cake & flower surprise to me on this Librarian Day.. I felt Happy.
Kalam Home Library Movement Initiative is the idea of SALIS Hariharan Sir & Noolagam Pesukirathu Swaminathan Sir.. Thanks to them..

Paper Presentation

I have presented a paper on Semantic Web and Library & Information Services - An Overview in the National Conference of Advancement in Library & Information Science & Technology: Challenges & Opportunities at B.S.Abdur Rahman University, Chennai on 10th & 11th July, 2015. The Conference was well organised. I get nice opportunity to meet the Library Professionals.
