Our Library Staff have visited Library of Fatima College, Madurai. Their Librarian has guided our staff in applying Barcode Technology, Shelf Rectification, Maintaining Cleaniness & so on. This visit will help us in improving our services.

Fresher Orientation Programme 23/06/2015

Fresher Orientation Programme has been organised for our First Year Students. With the aid of Power Point Presentation, Library Resources, Services has been explained to them by Librarian. 2 Skits has been arranged in the theme of Inculcating Reading Habit. Our Assistant Librarian Smt. S.Gomathy Mam has explained the rules; regulations for the Students.Our Guest Smt.Thamburati Mam, Asst Professor, English Department has shared her experience & importance of Library.

Digital Literacy Skill Classes

        Digital Literacy Skill Classes are being commenced for interested hostel students after the working hours. Here they learn about Information Search. E-book & E-journals Access, Maps, Photo Sharing, Email ID creation, Email Processing be so on.      

Library Exhibition, 11.02.15

            Library Exhibition has been organized for the School Students on 11.2.15 & 12.2.15 various Reference Sources, Demo of OPAC Search, Google Search have been displayed for the students.

UGC NET GUIDANCE CLASS

      UGC NET – LIBRARY & INFORMATION SCIENCE guidance class has been conducted for one student by Librarian  on 04.11.14 from 10.00 am. To 5.00 pm.

Readers Forum

       Readers Forum are being conducted at the hostel in the evening time. Interested Students  get involved in it. They review & discuss the books which they have read.

Conference Report March 2nd, 2015

    Sri.P.Pichappan, Research Professor, Zhejiang University of Technology, China has been the Chair Person of the Conference. Around 110 Participants & Presenters from various Disciplines, various States were attended the Conference. Our Chief Guest has guided our participants while they are presenting their paper for Scholarly Publication.

International Conference at DVK Central Library, Bangalore

  I have presented a paper on “Green Library" in the International Conference on “Library Space and Content Management for Networked Society” organised by DVK Central Library, Dharmaram Vidya Kshetram, Bangalore on October 18-20, 2014.

          They have given me chance to chair a session. 6 Delegates were presented their paper. The session went on well from 11:30 am to 01:00 pm. After all the presentations, Discussion held so as per the guidance of the Father present there. Dr.A.R.D.Prasad, Dr.Asundi, Dr. Ramesha were given their kind presence during the session. At the end note, Father has praised me & the memento has been given to me. It is my pleasure & It is my privilege to moderate such a session with Great professionals as presenters  & Library Science Subject experts & top professionals' presence & It is my pleasure to receive memento from Dr.A.R.D.Prasad, Library and Information Science Academics, Information professional and Information scientist. Documentation Research and Training Centre (DRTC), Bangalore.
            The Conference was well organised with nice hospitality. We had great time there. Their Library is well designed & well equipped. 60% of the students are utilizing their Library daily. It is very great feature.

Workshop on “Bibliometrics as Research Indicator”

                                          I have participated in the  State Level Workshop on “Bibliometrics as Research Indicator” at S.Vellaichamy Nadar College, Madurai on 13th October, 2014.

   I have presented a paper on “User Centered Community Service Models" in the "Worldwide Virtual Conference Library 2.013" organised by The School of Library and Information Science (SLIS) of San José State University, California on October 8 - 10, 2014. My PhD

       I am pursuing PhD on the topic “The Contribution of Sri Ramakrishana Mission’s Publication on Indian  Philosophy" under the Guidance of Dr.A.Thirumagal mam, Librarian, Manonmaniam Sundaranar University, Tirunelveli. I have registered on January 2014.

Library Orientation Programme

        On 27/06/2014, Library Orientation Programme was conducted for all first year students with technical aids. Skit also arranged in the theme of inculcating Reading Habit. 10 Students, 10 Books, 10 Book Reviews programme has been initiated for first years.

National Workshop on “Effective Usage of Web based Information Source & Access"

          Librarian has been a member of National Advisory Committee member of National Workshop on “Effective Usage of Web based Information Source & Access" organized by Thamirabarani Engineering College, Tirunelveli on 22/08/2014. 27 of our students have participated in this workshop.

Certificate Course

Library  & Information Science certificate course has been held in our college. 88 Students are participating in this class. To the part of this course, Students have visited M.S.University Library on 15/9/2014.
